About Artesia, CA
Artesia is an incorporated city of approximately 17,000 residents in southeastern Los Angeles County, covering 1.6 square miles. Incorporated in 1959, Artesia developed in the 1960s and 1970s at the junction of LA County and Orange County. The city is known for Pioneer Boulevard, particularly the stretch between 183rd Street and South Street that hosts a diverse array of South Asian restaurants, grocery stores, and businesses that have made the corridor a regional destination. Artesia is bordered by Cerritos to the east and south, Hawaiian Gardens and Lakewood to the west, and Norwalk to the north. The city's proximity to our Lakewood base (approximately 15 to 20 minutes via Pioneer Boulevard or 183rd Street) makes it one of the closest external cities in our service area.
The Artesia-Cerritos area is served by the ABC Unified School District and shares several community institutions with neighboring Cerritos and Hawaiian Gardens. For plumbing permits in Artesia, the City of Artesia Building Department is the issuing authority; we include permit coordination as part of all permitted plumbing work in Artesia, and we handle all permit applications directly with the City of Artesia Building Department on the homeowner's behalf with no additional coordination fee.
